New Zealand eTA and Traveller Declaration for UK citizens
Planning a trip to New Zealand? UK citizens of all ages need an Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) to be granted entry.
The NZeTA is not a visa — it’s a type of travel permit that allows you to visit New Zealand visa-free with a UK passport.
Check our complete guide to the NZeTA for British nationals and start your application today. You’ll also find details on the essential Traveller Declaration for New Zealand.
NZeTA:

Permits multiple entries

Stay for up to 6 months

Valid for tourism, business, or transit
NZ Traveller Declaration:

Single-use document

Required for all travellers

Valid on your date of arrival

New Zealand eTA application from the UK
It’s quick and easy to get your New Zealand eTA with OnTrailVisa. Here’s how our streamlined application process works:
Complete the NZeTA application form with your personal data and passport information. Our form has handy tooltips to help and is designed to be easy to fill out.
Take extra care when adding your passport data. Any discrepancies between your eTA and passport can cause issues on arrival.
Once you’ve confirmed your details are correct, you can submit your application by completing the NZeTA fee payment.
The total cost for the tourist NZeTA starts from £104 (USD 129), the transit NZeTA starts from £86 (USD 107), and the NZ Traveller Declaration is from £39 (USD 49). These fees cover both our processing fee and the government charge.
OnTrailVisa operates internationally, so payments made on our platform are charged in USD. The fee will be displayed in GBP (£) on your statement if you pay with a local bank.
Upload your ID-style photograph whenever it’s convenient. We’ll make sure it meets size and format guidelines.
Choose a photo that is recent and shows your face clearly. If you wear glasses, ensure there are no glares or reflections visible in the image. Sunglasses are not allowed.
As soon as your application is approved, we’ll notify you by email. Print a copy of the confirmation for your records.
The New Zealand electronic immigration system automatically registers your eTA once your application is accepted.
Your eTA is electronically linked to your passport. Have it ready for inspection when you arrive in New Zealand.
If you’re travelling by cruise or cargo ship, you’ll need to show check-in staff a printed copy or screenshot of your NZeTA confirmation email.
